How the Camp Will Run:
• The 21st Century Kids of FRANKLIN will provide an in-person summer camp opportunity to campers at Kineowatha Park. It is imperative that campers are able to adhere to the strict guidelines we are putting in place that make this summer camp possible. Campers will be evaluated for selection into the program based upon a number of factors, including behavior. Parents will be notified within 3-5 business days, and no later than June 16th whether or not their child has been selected for the program. We are capping registration at 85 students due to staffing.
• Campers will have to be dropped off and picked up by designated adults at Kineowatha Park. The camp will run from June 22nd to July 30th Monday through Thursday 12:00-4:00pm.
Students who attend RSU9 Summer School are welcome to join us after their morning academics.
The summer program will provide fun, active, and engaging outdoor and indoor activities (when necessary) designed to maximize students' physical activity and to keep their brains from slipping into the summer slide.
• Parents will be required to stay in their vehicles for drop off and pick up. Staff will chaperone campers to and from their vehicle.
• Camper and staff member belongings will be separated from others’ and in individually labeled containers. All personal items brought to camp must be kept to a minimum and must be labeled with the owner’s name. Campers will only be allowed to bring 1 bag with a bathing suit, towel, a water bottle, and a change of clothing to program. Absolutely no toys (land or water) or electronics will be allowed.
• Lunches will be provided by the Summer Feeding Program at Kineowatha Park.
• Parents may send students with snacks to enjoy throughout the day.
• Attendance Requirement: Students who can attend the entire program will receive priority enrollment. Sign ups this year will provide option for week-by-week basis, so by signing up for 1 week you are ensuring your camper will be there at least 3 of the 4 days that week. Students must attend 3 out of 4 days each week in order to remain enrolled in the summer program.
Looking forward to a safe and fun summer,
The 21st Staff
