STRENGTHENING FAMILIES FOR OVER 40 YEARS

MAINE FAMILIES

The Maine Families program promotes healthy family care and relationships from the prenatal months through early childhood

When we strengthen families, we ultimately strengthen the community. Our goal is that parents everywhere work with supportive providers, feel confident in their parenting role, and form strong, resilient attachments with their children. To help achieve this, providers must be responsive to parents, knowledgeable about child development, and eager to see every parent succeed.

Maine Families is a statewide network of community teams serving the needs of pregnant women and parents with newborns. The Maine Families Program understands that all parents want the best for their babies. We are on your side and we come right to your home. No matter what you need to give your family a great start, we are here to help you. If you are expecting a new baby or have a baby less than three months old, let us know how we can help.

We are able to come to your own home at a time that works for you! If you prefer to meet at our agency or in the community, we are happy to accommodate.

What can Maine Families do for my family?

  • Fun activities for you and your baby;
  • Tips on how to care for your baby;
  • Guidance in observing your baby’s development and promotion of that development;
  • Periodic developmental screenings using the

Ages and Stages Questionnaires:

  • Health and safety information for the home, car and childcare setting;
  • Information on what to expect each month of growth;
  • Information on fostering baby’s healthy brain development;
  • Input on your concerns;
  • Play groups and special events for family fun!
